Yoga (asana) can help rid your body of blocked or stagnant energy and/or sooth erratic or over-stimulated energy. It can also change habit patterns and teach you how to have intelligent emotional responses while navigating through different environments. It is through the re-training of habits on the mat that create space for other practices such as the mental practice of Dharana (intense focus), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (state of oneness).
As you step onto your mat and open yourself up over and over again to this type of process, you can shift your perspective and see life in a different light. Firmly setting roots in a consistent yoga practice can support you as you explore Pratyahara (looking within). While honouring your practice over time means staying humble, malleable, honest and creative.
